Underclass Report: 2019 Position Players

Last week I took a look at the top 2018 graduates that are uncommitted. This week I want to look at the top 2019 graduates that are uncommitted. That is the majority of the class with only OF/RHP Blake Adams and C Cason Tollett who have committed to Arkansas. Below you will find the top uncommitted position players in the 2019 class.
Peyton Holt, MIF, Greenwood HS
Holt is a 5-foot-9 160-pound middle infielder with an athletic build and frame. Offensively he starts from an athletic stance. He uses a slight hand load and a leg kick, he attacks the baseball with a line drive swing. He maintains balance through extension and has shown the ability to hit the ball to all fields. He produces exit velocities up to 88 mph. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid footwork, he as a fluid exchange and throws the ball accurately from multiple arm slots. He runs a 3.98 home to first time. Overall Holt is an advanced athlete with a solid skill set, he is intriguing to watch over the next two years.
Brandon Ulmer, OF, Booneville HS
Ulmer is a 5-foot-9 160-pound outfielder with a slight frame and an athletic build. Offensively he starts from an athletic stance, he uses a minimum load and stride. He uses a line drive swing, and works primarily to the pull side. He manipulates the barrel well enough to keep it in the hit zone for an extended period of time. He stays balanced through extension and gets down the line well running a 3.89 home to first. Defensively, he works through the baseball with fluid footwork. He throws the ball accurately using H ¾ arm slot and a loose arm. He throws the ball 79 mph from the outfield. Overall Ulmer is a premium athlete with a feel for the game, time will tell as he physically matures on his ceiling.
Alex Cauley, OF, North Little Rock HS
Cauley is a 5-foot-10 170-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and skinny build. Offensively he starts from a slightly open stance, he dives back into the plate getting online. He has a line drive swing that allows him to hit the ball to all fields. He produces exit velocity up 82 mph. Defensively he shows good instincts and plays through the baseball. He has smooth exchange and accurate arm throwing the ball 79 mph from the outfield. Overall Cauley is a good athlete with an advanced feel to hit.
Kirby Jenkins, MIF, Har-Ber HS
Jenkins is a 6-foot-2 175-pound infielder with a large frame and an athletic build. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid footwork and solid glove actions. He uses a normal exchange and a short arm action throwing the baseball 80 mph accurately across the infield. Offensively he starts from a tall stance, uses a slight hand load and a leg kick. He attacks the baseball with a slight uphill swing. He stays balanced through contact and shows an advanced feel for his barrel. As he grows into his large frame power production should increase. Overall Jenkins is a polished baseball player, how physical he becomes will determine the level of baseball he plays after high school.
Jake Wright, OF, Bryant HS
Wright is a 5-foot-10 160-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and build. Offensively he starts from an athletic stance, he uses a slight hand load and stride, and he remains balance throughout his swing. He attacks the baseball with fast bat speed and a line drive swing. He has an advanced feel for the barrel and has the ability to hit the ball to all fields. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid footwork, he uses a normal exchange and throws the ball accurately with carry from the outfield. Overall Wright is an advanced hitter with solid defensive skills.
