Southern Arkansas signs one high school player in the 2017 class to combine with three junior college players. The Muleriders landed INF Parker Ribble from Magnolia High School. Ribble is a physical athlete, with advanced offensive abilities. He came on my radar in the spring of 2016, watching him play short stop for Magnolia on their way to the 5A state title. He was invited and accepted an invitation to play in the Top Prospects Games in early June at Arvest Ballpark. Below you will find my report from that event.
MIF Parker Ribble Magnolia High School
Ribble is a 6-foot 190-pound middle infielder with a large frame and a physical build. Offensively he stands out with and advanced feel for the barrel. He starts from a tall stance, he uses a slight stride. He attacks the baseball with a line drive swing producing exit velocity up to 92 mph. Defensively he plays through the baseball with choppy footwork, he as a fluid exchange and a strong accurate arm up to 84 mph across the infield. Overall Ribble is a physical player with an advanced feel for the barrel.
He is ranked 27th in the state of Arkansas and is rated as the No. 4 short stop in his class.
