Arkansas Scouting Director
The 2016 Fall Prospect League was a huge success, this event allowed me to get a good feel for over 70 players, and players from multiple classes. The league featured a little of everything with some top in 2017, 2018, 2019, and emerging players in the 2020 class. Throughout this week we are going to announce our post season awards.
Defensive Player of the Year
The top defender was 2019 MIF Evan Stewart. Stewart anchored the defensive for the Little Rock Rockets. He showed fluid footwork and a quick exchange and an accurate arm. He showed advanced range. On the double play he had a fluid exchange and an accurate arm. Offensively he starts from an athletic position with a simple load and stride combination. He attacks the baseball with normal bat speed and a line drive swing. Overall Stewart is a premium defender with some offensive feel, he projects to improve over the next two season.
