The Fall Prospect League wrapped up Sunday afternoon, at Arkansas Baptist College and Ouachita Baptist University. This finished off a four week league that saw players from all corners of the state compete at seven different institutions.
We want to thank, Arkansas Baptist College, Arkansas Tech University, Henderson State University, Ouachita Baptist University, Southern Arkansas University, University of Arkansas Fort Smith, and University of Arkansas Monticello for allowing us to compete on your campuses.
Overall the league featured a diverse group of players from each class, with some of the top players from around the state participating, and some unknown players that have made strides as a player and have seen their stock rise, over the past four weeks.
This event allowed players to get consistent repetition that is hard to find this time of year in a football dominated state. It was nice to see the progression from the young arms, who struggled to compete in the strike zone early and as the league progressed, they attacked the strike zone with confidence. Young position players seemed to catch up to the speed of the game quickly, while the veteran players showed the ability to play with effort four weeks consecutively, showing improved make up from years past.
As this week moves forward we will begin to hand out post season awards, for the players who stood out as top performers.
Our Staff thoroughly enjoyed covering this league and look forward to league returning in 2017. Thank you to the players who participated, we look forward to seeing you again soon, whether it’s in the winter or next spring for your high school.
