Arkansas Insider: Perfect Timing Workout

Perfect Timing Baseball held a work out for Perfect Timing Baseball, Sandlot Baseball and Sticks Baseball Saturday at Bentonville High School. It was a solid event with several talented players. The players took Batting Practice, Ran 60’s, and competed in two games. The event was well attended by college and pro scouts with a total of 19 talent evaluators in the stands.
2017 Jacob Williams RHP Bentonville High School
Williams is a 6-foot 170-pound right-hander with an average frame and an athletic build. He pitched from an H ¾ arm slot with a with a short arm action. His delivery was simple and repeated, with some effort and a head a jerk. He commanded the strike zone with his fastball 80-82 mph up to 83 mph with slight arm side run. His secondary pitch was a curveball thrown 70-71 mph with 11/5 shape and late action thrown for strikes with near fastball arm speed. Overall Williams showed the ability to command the strike zone, with a feel for two pitches, his velocity was down from the 84-86 touching 87 mph in the summer. (Uncommitted)
2017 Caleb Kimbel OF Har-ber High School
Kimbel is a 6-foot-1 220-pound OF/1B with a wide frame and a strong build. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid heavy footwork, using average hands with some stiffness, he uses a normal exchange with a short arm action from a ¾ arm slot. He throws the ball accurately. Offensively he starts from an open stance with a smooth load short stride. He attacks the baseball with fast bat speed with an uphill swing. He remains balanced through extension. Overall Kimbel is a physical player with raw strength and bat speed. (Uncommitted)
2018 Landon Brown RHP Shiloh Christian High School
Brown is a 6-foot- 185-pound right-hander with a wide frame and a strong build. His fastball worked 82-84 mph in the strike zone consistently. He also commanded a curveball thrown 69-71 mph with 11/5 shape and early break. He worked from an H ¾ arm slot with a quick arm action with some stiffness. He used some rhythm with normal effort in a tall and fall delivery. He finished upright falling off to the 1st base side. Overall Brown has a quick arm and the ability to command two pitches for a strike. He has physical strength.
2017 Caleb Grace C/3B Har-Ber High School
Grace is a 5-foot-10 170-pound catcher with an athletic frame and build. He did a solid job defensively behind the plate, showing adequate skills blocking and receiving. Throwing to second he displayed a short arm action from an H ¾ arm slot with accuracy and carry. He used fluid footwork and a quick exchange. Offensively he uses an athletic stance with a smooth load, a short stride, and an ok lower half. He attacks the baseball with fast speed and a level swing, which produces line drives consistently. Overall Grace is a solid left-handed hitting catcher with enough athleticism to play a corner infield or outfield position. (Uncommitted)
2018 Weston Tate RHP Fayetteville High School
Tate is a 6-foot-1 170-pound right-hander with a projectable frame and build. He pitched from an H ¾ arm slot with a long arm action. His tall and fall delivery is repeated with normal effort and an average balance point. His fastball worked 78-80 mph with slight sink, he commanded a 10/4 slider thrown 69-70 mph that induced some swing and misses. Overall Tate is a solid right-hander with a feel for a breaking ball.
2018 Luke Johnson 1B Shiloh Christian High School
Johnson is a 6-foot-5 230-pound 1st baseman large frame and solid build. Offensively he starts from an open stance with a short stride which never gets him back online. He attacks the baseball with a long bat path to the pull side. He maintains balances throughout his swing with choppy rhythm. Defensively he plays through the baseball with fluid footwork with average hands and a clean exchange. He throws the baseball from an H ¾ arm slot with accuracy across the infield. Overall Johnson is large player with raw strength, and above average athleticism for a player of his stature.
2017 C Dalton Smead C Nashville High School
Smead is a 6-foot-3 170-pound C with a large frame and a thin build. Defensively he showed the ability to block with solid technique and effort. Receiving there is some stiffness and he worked down through breaking balls. Offensively he attacks the baseball with fast bat speed and a line drive swing. He maintains balance through extension. Overall Smead is a solid catcher with a projectable frame to add strength to. (Uncommitted)
2018 MIF Garrett Cook MIF Genoa Central High School
Cook is a 5-foot-10 160-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and build. Defensively he impressed showing advanced athleticism and solid actions with soft hands. He played through the baseball with fluid footwork, a normal exchange, with an accurate arm. Offensively he displayed a compact swing with average bat speed and feel for the barrel. Overall Cook is a solid athlete with advanced defensive skills.
2017 RHP Kaden Tollett RHP Nashville High School
Tollett is a 6-foot-1 175-pound right-hander with an athletic frame and build. He pitched from an L ¾ arm slot with a quick loose arm. He uses rushed rhythm with some effort. He has late hand separation. His fastball worked 79-82 mph with late sink. He also showed the ability to command a Frisbee slider thrown 60-64 mph with early break and a change up with arm-side run thrown 69-70 mph. Overall Tollett has a quick arm with ability to command the strike zone with three pitches. His arm action projects to throw harder. (Uncommitted)
2017 RHP Jaylen Deshazier RHP Pine Bluff High School
Deshazier is a 6-foot-2 180-pound right-hander with a large frame and an athletic build. He pitched from an H ¾ arm slot with a quick loose arm, using a tall and fall delivery with normal effort. He used consistent late rhythm staying online, with athletic finish. His fastball was consistently in the strike zone with late cut. He commanded his curveball for strikes with 11/5 action with gradual break and minimum depth. Overall Deshazier is a premium athlete with some raw ability and a quick clean arm.
