The North Alabama Preseason All-State was held Sunday, January 16th at Hartselle High School in Hartselle, AL. This event consisted of players ranging from the classes of 2022-2026. These players went through an extended pro-style workout and took batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion sensors. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Sunday.

We wrap up our post-event coverage today by taking a look at all of the pitchers that were present at the event.

Sam Carter, Chelsea  (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-10, 170-pounds. Strong, compact frame.
Delivery: Compact, powerful and repeatable delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Up tempo, works on-plane to the plate.
FB: T85.5, 82.8-85.2 mph. Controlled the strike zone, sinking action at times. T2145, 1982 average rpm.
CB: 66.7-72.5 mph. 11/5 shape, gradual break, commanded down in the zone. T2401, 2331 average rpm.

Arm Action: RH. Shorter arm action from a high 3/4 slot.

Arm Action: RH. Ball explodes out of the hand from a high 3/4 slot. Commanded all pitches very well.

Delivery: Tall and fall, up-tempo delivery.
