7/12/17 5-foot-6, 145-pound left-handed hitter initiates swing from neutral with short. controlled stride. There is excellent balance and rhythm to load and swing. Bat is on plane early and maintained throughout zone. A solid weight shift and lower half turn are demonstrated. Sound mechanics played in BP as Haskins consistently barreled ball and showed ability to cover whole plate. Recorded bat exit velocity of 75 mph should improve with strength gains.
Defensively, as catcher hands were soft, good blocking technique was demonstrated. Pop times of 2.03-2.13 were recorded with arm strength of 75 mph. Middle infield evaluation revealed consistency in working bottom up and fielding ball out front. Hands are soft and solid footwork is present.
2/24/18 Initiates swing from neutral set up with short controlled stride staying neutral. Haskins continues to display the solid balance and rhythm previously noted. Hands are quick and direct with bat on plane early and late. Bat exit velocity has improved to 80 mph since last seen. Haskins has makings of solid next level contact bat.
Defensively, hands are soft and quiet in framing. A soft wall is presented in blocking with advanced agility and range demonstrated. Footwork is solid in throwing. Transfer is clean and quick with short throwing motion present on throws of 74 mph out of crouch.
As MI hands are soft and confident. There is commitment to working bottom up and out front. Feet work well to and through the ball while flashing above average range.
