Physical: Strong, muscular 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame. 7.73 runner in the 60YD.
Offensively: LHH. Crouched, balanced setup, as the hands worked tall to begin. Utilized a simple lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing through an uphill, whippy path into the hitting zone. Stayed over the rear hip with quality separation, allowing for max intent and an XBH approach. Recorded a T91MPH EV, on the sweet spot at a 50% clip.
Defensively: The primary 3B featured adequate feel around the bag, showing off a bent, even posture with a soft funnel inwards from the center. Reached back for a repeatable 78MPH arm-strength across the INF (H ¾).
2/19/23
Ty Ott: 3B/1B, (2025) Williamstown, WV. 5-foot-10, 175-pound athletic physical build. (64.9 mph bat speed average). (20.0 mph hand speed average). Starts in a tall narrow stance with a tight smooth load, then uses a controlled leg kick. Has explosive bat speed, short loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Created tons of loud contact and found lots of barrels. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Projectable advanced in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 74 mph; has smooth consistent feet, a clean fluid exchange, and next level hands. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Used a short quick arm action and athletic slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.5. (Max spin ; Avg ).
3/03/19
Body Type: 5-foot-4, 165-pounds with small, physical build
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: On the mound, the RHP stays squared to the plate, incorporates a high leg kick. He throws downhill and follows through with every pitch. Throws from a loose ¾ slot
Fastball: FB is straight with little to no run (58-61)
Curveball: CB is developing with slow break on a 12/6 plane (52)
Changeup: CH is developing with slow movement away from LHH (53-54)
Pitchability: Has command of FB with developing off speed. Shows promise with secondary pitches as they stay around the strike zone
Role: TBD
Additional Comments: Velocity and command should increase as he continues to fill out
Hit: He starts with a wide stance and gets good weight transitions. Has a high leg kick with good separation with hands in his load. Favors the pull side and keeps his hands inside. Finds the hitting plane well.
Power: Future power will come with growth, gets natural loft
Offensive Projections: Middle, run producer (67 exit velocity)
Run: 9.89 (60-yard dash)
Field: He has average footwork as he stays low and plays behind the baseball. Shows some softness in his hands and has longer transitions. Has average arm strength with loose arm actions and follows his throws.
Defensive Projection: 1B
