Showcased soft hands and played balls consistently with momentum towards his target as he registered the top infield arm at the event with 81 mph throws across the diamond. Right-handed pitcher initiates using over-the-top arm-action with hip coil as well as a slightly-closed landing. Fastball sat 76-79 mph with arm-side-run. Curveball was seen at 65-68 mph with 11/5 rotation. Slider featured at 68-70 with harder break and above average sell.
1.21.18 - Offensively, initiates swing from open set up with stride to remaining slightly open. Subtle bat tip and working of elbow up and back in load create separation and solid barrel whip. There is an aggressive weight shift and good leverage. Swing shows uphill path with some length. A bat exit speed of 85 mph was recorded.
Defensively, Hands are adequate. Would benefit from greater commitment to working bottom up and out front. Transfer is clean. Tends to step closed on throws across.
On the mound works out of high 3/4 arm slot. There is solid hip coil and rhythm to delivery. Achieves Separation with good use of lower half. There is intermittent tendency to land closed creating first base fall. Fb reached 78 mph with arm side run. CB at 64-65 mph was thrown with arm being slowed and 11-4 rolling action. CH and SL were inconsistent on this day.
