OF Yamato Takahashi (Arrowhead, 2025) is a prospect that continues to perform well in front of our staff. The junior started his day by running a solid 60-yard dash of 7.18 seconds showing quick burst and quick to get to his top speed. With the bat, Takahashi has a balanced swing with minimal head movement to deliver the barrel consistently to and through the baseball and registered his max exit velocity at 90.4 mph and drove a ball 325 feet showing quality gap-to-gap line drive power. His 85 mph velocity from the outfield with carry and accuracy is enough arm strength to cover all three spots. It was another consistent and overall impressive day from Takahashi.
3/18/23
Takahashi had a quality showing on both sides of the ball, standing at 5-foot-8, 165 pounds, featuring good proportions and an athletic body. At the plate, Takahashi uses that athleticism, paired with a wide base in his stance. The lefty prospect has strong and quick hands, a quality combination that allowed him to consistently drive baseballs to the gaps with intent. Takahashi, with that formula, reached 88 mph as a max velocity, a repeat of what he did at the West Milwaukee ID earlier in the offseason. Defensively, Takahashi’s quick-twitch athleticism and loose arm got up to 82 mph, completing his all-around game as a future prospect.

Takahashi offered Team Wisconsin stability on defense from both the outfield and in the infield while at the Junior Future Games. His reliable defense makes him a useful, versatile prospect to follow, and he’s a competitive right-handed at-bat, too. Takahashi was responsible for the most timely hit of the week, a three-run triple that tied the game late against Team Texas
