ATH: 7.45 runner in the 60. 30.50 max vertical.
C Marek Bolson (Oconomowoc, 2025) offers upside and projection in his lean 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. The left-handed hitting backstop took a number of quality at-bats during Team Wisconsin’s three games of the week, and in their first one, he flashed his power potential as he drilled a deep fly-ball to the opposite field fence for an RBI double. In the next two games of the week, Bolson continued to show off his bat-to-ball skills as he collected two more hits, finishing his illustrious week with three hits, while driving in a combined two runs, too. Positionally, Bolson is a clean and athletic mover behind the plate, which helped him mark pop-time lows of 2.01 during Team Wisconsin’s workout. His innate defensive abilities seemingly transferred over to live gameplay, as he threw out a runner in Team Wisconsin’s final game of the week, all while being an advanced receiver and blocker, too. Bolson surely made the most out of the gameplay portion of this premier event, as he was one of Team Wisconsin’s most consistent bats; Bolson asserted himself even more as one of the top incoming junior backstops in the Badger State.
PBR Future Games: C Marek Bolson (Oconomowoc, 2025) was a standout during the spring season, and continued to maintain that momentum into the summer, which earned him an invite to Team Wisconsin at the 2023 PBR Future Games. He started his workout by running a personal best 7.28-second 60-yard dash, a quality number for the catching position. Bolson presents a smooth swing at the plate, along with a consistent barrel. The strength and power continues to develop at a projectable 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. The defensive portion to cap off the afternoon was intriguing, as Bolson had pop times from 2.01-2.15 seconds. The all-around performance shapes him up well for the rest of the weekend, and for the future.
Positional Profile: C/2B
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Long levers, high waist, sloped shoulders, projectable.
Hits: LHH. Stock set up, relaxed hands. Leg lift gather, lands slightly back of center, short quick direct path, long through the ball, can impact and loft the ball middle to pull side gap and hit line drives to opposite field, hitterish.

Defense: 2.06-2.13 pop times. Athletic, quick first step, clean transfer, smooth transfer, soft blocker.
Run: 7.39 runner in the 60.
Vizual Edge: 80.85 Edge Score
C Marek Bolson (Oconomowoc, 2025) performed well yet again in front of our staff over the weekend. Bolson stands at a particularly projectable 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, adding some strength over the offseason which should help him get into more powerful contact from the left side. Bolson’s sweet left-handed swing is athletic and effortless, that works off a natural incline that should be boosted by the strength he gains as he continues to mature and develop. While his offense is packed with potential, his defense is presently impressive. Bolson’s a soft-handed receiver with quick hands and feet that work athletically together, and his accurate arm helped him record pop times in the 2.06-2.13 range with upside 73 mph arm strength.

Vizual Edge: 80.85 Edge Score
Bolson is a long-limbed catcher listed 6-foot, 165 pounds, and a strength gain over this coming offseason could have him break out once again. Bolson has a natural feel to hit, which he displayed throughout his round of batting practice, using the ground well to employ a swing that is short to and long through the zone that helps him to find the barrel often. His development offensively over the course of this year is something to note, as he showcased a more controlled and authoritative barrel on Saturday, and that could help him become one of the state’s top-ranked sophomore catchers in the near future. On defense, Bolson displayed his athleticism and bounce behind the plate, along with an arm that got up to 73 mph from the crouch helped him record lows of 2.10 pops down to second. Bolson’s shown an innate feel behind the plate previously, and his progress on offense raises his overall ceiling that much more.
Behind the dish, Bolson possesses fundamental skills with touch in his mitt. The transfer was consistently smooth, and the throws consistently carried through the bag. Offensively, Bolson demonstrated a simple, repeatable left-handed swing that projects as he continues to add strength, enhancing his profile as a dependable catcher, too. As Bolson fills out, and his athletic capacity matches his skills around the diamond, he’ll be an interesting follow.
