Ascher clutched up for Brew State Baseball Academy in this one, sending a single to the left-center gap to drive in two runs, guiding the offense to a victory. Within the matchup as well, the No. 3 ranked catcher in Wisconsin’s 2024 class threw out a potential base-stealer with ease, showing off his strong arm from behind the plate. Ascher’s all-around play and leadership was the key on Friday night, as he looks to continue to build on this success entering Central Missouri by this time next year.
Ascher stands 6-foot-1, 205 pounds with strength throughout his frame. Ascher showcased was consistently on the barrel in his round hitting from a centered and grounded set up and move through the ball. Behind the plate, his pop times were consistently in the sub 2.1’s with a quick and clean release and an accurate arm. Ascher has both defensive and offensive acumen and is a player our PBR Wisconsin staff continues to like.
Positional Profile: C
Body: 6-1, 210-pounds. Strong build.
Hit: RHH. Wide base, centered, balanced. Stays grounded, rocks back into load, uses ground very well, well sequenced, loose short and quick.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 84 mph. 330’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 73 mph. INF - mph. OF - mph. Compact, 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.04-2.10 pop times. Soft hands, quick first movement, clean transfer, accurate throws, works in-line, clean blocker.
Run: 7.63 runner in the 60.

Ascher has established himself as one of the top right-handed hitters among the state’s backstops, which has helped him earn attention on the radar from a very early stage. Here, Ascher did well to reiterate his pull-side power potential, recording a max exit speed of 94.0 mph and a max distance of 355 feet, all while creating some top-of-the-charts metrics on the Blast device. Defensively, he gets the most out of his arm strength (71 mph), optimizing on a consistently quick exchange with throws that are often accurate to the bag.
Lincoln Ascher (Kettle Moraine, 2024) the 6-1, 205lb catcher has continued to trend upwards in looks throughout this cycle. From behind the dish, he popped as low as 2.00 down to second with above average defensive presence. Ascher also shows a mature presence in the box, driving balls in the air with ease, and working his exits as high as 95mph. Ascher looks the part of an up-and-coming backstop in the state’s sophomore class.
Ascher was a standout at The Rock earlier in the summer and the 6-foot, 190-pound backstop continues to impress each time we see him. He took a handful of athletic cuts yesterday at the PBR at The Rock Fall Championships and barreled one up the other way in this game for his lone hit of the contest. He’s an impactful presence behind the plate as well with above-average defensive actions and instincts for someone his age. There’s potential for Ascher to be a middle-of-the-order type bat that can also be a defensive asset behind the plate.
