+ R-SOPH RHP Isaac Engelbrecht (Oak Creek, WI, 2021) is a strong 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-hander that put together a quality ‘pen during our time with Bryant & Stratton. Engelbrecht ran his fastball up to 85.8 mph, good for an event high. As for his offspeed pitches, his mid-70s slider featured over 16” of horizontal movement on average and was spun at 2,465 RPM on average. His spin traits carried over to his curveball, too, as it averaged over 2,500 RPM and played with sharp 11/5 break. He rounded out his four-pitch mix with a deceptive splitter in the upper-70s, which featured late depth with occasional arm-side run. 

Positional Profile: RHP An interesting uncommitted right-hander in the state's 2021 class.
Body: 6-foot-3, 195-pounds. Strong, athletic build.
Delivery: Squared, slight staggered, setup in the middle of the rubber. Side step into big leg lift and high knee, hip turn, leg swings out with high front, square toe-closed landing.
Arm Action: RH. Long, quick arm action with effort involved, from an over-the-top slot.
FB: T84, 82-84 mph. Jumps from the hand; creates some carry through the zone with downhill tilt.
CB: 72-73 mph. Aggressive pitch thrown at arm speed with tight spin. Release helps create some sharp 12/6 action that flashed late.
SPLT: 73-75 mph. Deceleration to harness feel; still features some late bite.

6-foot-3, 195-pound right handed pitcher. High-waisted, athletic frame. Tall and fall delivery, occasionally creates tilt. Long and loose arm action from a high 3/4 window. Arm works well out front. Fastball plays mostly straight with occasional run at 82-84 mph, touching 85 mph a handful of times. Breaking ball at 70-72 mph with 11/5 shape. Changeup at 71-73 mph with sinking action. Final line: CG, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 11 K, 2 BB. Engelbrecht is another member of Team Wisconsin who we’ll see at the PBR Future Games next week.

Positional Profile: RHP 
Body: 6-foot-3, 195-pounds. Muscular build, wide shoulders. 
Delivery: Tall/fall delivery, slight drop in backside, good balance point, level shoulders, lands slightly closed, occasionally fell towards 1B side, clean and repeatable throughout, minimal effort with some rhythm. 
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action, over-the-top slot, quick arm speed. 
FB: T86, 84-86 mph. Worked down in the zone, showed life, hard action. 
CB: 71-74 mph. 12/6 shape, sharp action, power pitch, thrown at fastball arm speed and with feel.
CH: 72-76 mph. Thrown near fastball arm speed, flashed both sink and fade.

Positional Profile: RHP 
Body: 6-foot-3, 190-pounds. Large frame, athletic build with present strength.
Delivery: Balanced throughout, tall and fall type, strong front side, uses leverage, creates tilt at times.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, high 3/4 slot, low effort.
FB: T85, 81-85 mph. Straight, occasional tilt, showed feel.
SL: 70-74 mph. 11/5 shape, occasionally gets depth. 
SPLT: 69-71 mph. Occasional downer, average feel.

6/20/18 - 6-foot-3, 185-pound two-way player, high waisted lean athletic frame, projects best on the mound. Ability to repeat delivery, with little effort, uses slide step out of the stretch. Arm action is long, works out of high ¾ slot, quick arm. Fastball is mostly straight, 82-83 mph in the windup, 78 mph out of the stretch. Slider has gradual 10/4 shape, 66-68 mph. Splitter sinks, worked down, 68-72 mph. Right-handed hitter, open stance, short stride to even. Path is slight uphill, hard contact at times to both gaps. 90 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm works similar to that on the mound, 80 mph across the diamond. Third base profile, hands play through the baseball, gets tall at times. 7.22 runner in the 60.

2/25/18 - 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed pitcher, lanky frame. Delivery works with regular effort, on line, squared landing. Arm action is long and quick, high ¾ slot. Fastball occasionally cuts, 79-81 mph. Curveball plays 11/5, gradual action, 67-69 mph. Splitter played 69-71 mph, near fastball arm speed.

10/28/17 - 6-foot-2, 175-pound two-way player, long lean projectable frame. Projects best on the mound, balanced delivery, finishes slightly to first base side. Easy arm action long and loose, high ¾ slot. Fastball topped at 77 mph, sat 74-75 mph, finishes in the zone. Curveball has 10/4 shape, 67-69 mph. Changeup has downer action 65-66 mph. Right-handed hitter, slightly open stance, slight drop of hands in to load. Projectable bat speed, path is long and works uphill. Defensively arm plays over the top, 71 mph across. Plays tall and works downhill. 7.54 runner in the 60.

4/2/17 - 6-foot-2, 170-pound, two-way prospect with a lanky, athletic frame. On the mound, projectable right-handed pitcher, tall and fall delivery, toe lands open. Long, loose arm action from a high ¾ angle. Fastball, thrown for strikes, sat 71-73 mph. Curveball, has 11/5 shape, 58-59 mph. Splitter, flashed sink, 61-64 mph. Offensively, right-handed hitter, tall setup with a short stride. Path works long and uphill through the zone. 78 mph exit velocity from a tee. Defensively, showed reliable hands and ability to pick. Long arm action from high ¾ slot. Threw 69 mph across the infield. 7.33 runner in the laser-timed 60.
