Standing at a physically built 6-foot-2, 215-pounds with strength throughout his frame. Across his two inning start where he was tagged for four runs, Jackson showed an improved arsenal. Jackson has had notable arm strength when he’s pitched in front of our staff, this look was no different. Now reaching 91 mph sitting 88-91 early, 85-87 in the third with his fastball that played with late life and finish to the pitch. Jackson showed improved feel for his mid-70s breaking ball in this look, flashing sharp downward break generating whiffs and chases out of the zone. Jackson also showed a low-to-mid-80s changeup that looks to have improved as well.

Tuesday provided us our first showcase look at RHP Broden Jackson (Milton, 2024) in almost two years and it definitely did not disappoint. Standing at a physical, broad-shouldered 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, Jackson is a simple mover on the bump and pairs it with a strong arm that created some noteworthy fastball metrics. First off, he ran his fastball up to 88.2 mph, sitting in the mid-to-high-80s throughout. He was also able to spin this pitch at a well-above average rate, more than 2,300 rpm on average and he created a max 18’ of induced-vertical break, too. As for his offspeeds, he spun in a tight, high-70s slider that averaged 10.4’ of horizontal movement and was thrown for strikes, while also throwing it out of the zone for swings-and-misses. He also flashed a two-seam/sinker that offered a quality change of pace option as it sat in the upper-70s and it also averaged 16’ of horizontal movement as well. Jackson would finish his two-inning stint with two punch outs, while not allowing a hit, and he walked away from this ultra-talented event as a major winner.

Jackson is a physically advanced prospect out of Milton who is also making his rankings debut in this update. Built at a strong 6-foot-2, 210-pounds, Jackson's physicality alone makes him stand out from his peers. His strength also helps him create max EVs of 98 mph, something we have seen in the past. Jackson also flashes some two-way potential as he has been up to 87 mph while on the bump. Overall, Jackson is a raw athlete with a high ceiling and if he continues to trend in the right direction he is a prospect who could make some noise inside this junior class.
