7/30/18 - Setting up quietly from the left side in a balanced stance with the bat rested on his shoulder, Carey is slightly hunched over pre-pitch before separating his hands back with a longer stride. His barrel takes a flat path through the zone with a two-handed finish. He smoked a line drive double in his first at-bat, and took quality swings throughout making it easy to envision him driving gap to gap doubles moving forward. Behind the dish, he blocks well, and delivered consistent 2.1-2.15 throws to second base between innings.

2/25/18 - Currently ranked No. 21 in Wisconsin’s Class of 2020. 6-foot-1, 185-pound, strong left-handed hitting catcher. Offensively, open setup, smooth load, short stride, maintains balance through contact. Level barrel path, power hitter type, flashed bat speed, 85 mph exit velocity. Ran a 7.43 laser-timed 60. Defensively, traditional catcher’s arm action, short ,over-the-top, kept throws around the bag, 75 mph from the crouch. Fluid footwork, clean on exchanges, flashed soft hands, 2.11-2.19 pop times.

8/22/17 - 6-foot-1, 180-pound catcher, strong athletic build. Left-handed hitter, open setup, leg lift stride. Simple approach, showed bat strength, hands play with pull side approach, 81 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively arm action is short and over the top, flashed carry, 74 mph. Above average hands, quiet receiver, 2.12-2.19 pop times. 7.61 runner in the 60.

2/26/17 - 6-foot, 165-pound left-handed hitting catcher. At the plate hits from a balanced, slightly closed setup. Line drive hitter with a level swing path and one arm finish. Showed strength thru contact with 86 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.45. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Popped 2.22-2.32 and threw 70 mph from the crouch.
