A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Trone has an athletic 6-foot-1 and 185-pound frame that shows some present strength with room to add more. Athletic and quicker paced delivery with some rhythm to it and a hinge in the hips at balance point. Lands slightly open, shoulders are downhill, arm action is longer and free with late intent from a true sidearm slot. Arm slot helps create some downard sink on the fastball at 78-80 mph and topping at 81 with some movement to the arm side as well. Showed a slider that has a 10/4 shape at 70-72 mph with feel for the zone. Worked mostly to the glove side and was around the zone with some control in the lower third. Flashed a 70-71 mph curveball, 69-72 mph changeup, and a 74-75 mph splitter that displayed fastball arm speed.

Trone is 6-1 with an athletic frame that has some strength present and some projection left to it. On the mound, throws from a sidearm slot, long free arm action with normal effort to his delivery. Hinges at waist some to create angle, drop and drive delivery, shoulders are downhill and closed, lands on line with an athletic finish. Fastball was 79-83 with heavy two-plane movement, getting sink and armside run. Slider was 71-74 with good armspeed and big gradual 10/4 break, had some shape to it. Groundball pitcher, fields his position well.

Quick clean exchange, works through the ball, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, velocity was 78. Ran a 4.44 home to first.
