Marohn is an NC State commit and has a lanky frame with a lot of projection left to it. Short free arm action, quick arm stroke, throws with normal effort. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, has some crossfire in his delivery and strides out with shoulders closed, hides the ball and creates some deception. Low slot and crossfire creates an angle that is very tough on lefties. Showed three pitches in the game, fastball was 84-87, touching 88 once. in his third and fourth innings he mostly just working right at 85. Pitch had angle and some late sink and armside run to it. Threw a tight slider with some late 2/8 break that was 78-79. Primary offspeed pitch was a curveball that had good armspeed and sharp 2/8 break to it, pitch has some shape to it and flashed swing and miss potential. Showed the ability to throw curve for a strike or bury it, also the ability to back foot it to a righthanded hitter. Moved his fastball around the zone, showed good control of his pitches and ability to throw strikes and work ahead in the count. Struck out 9 in 4 innings without walking any batters. Showed pitchability and has a chance to continue adding velocity as he gains more strength and continues to develop.
