VA/MD State Games
5-foot-10, 160-pound lean athletic frame. Fluid projectable at the plate, the right-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 86 mph. (67.4 mph bat speed average). (21.6 mph hand speed average). Starts in a wide balanced stance with a rhythmic active load, then uses a leg kick. Had an upward swing plane, quick raw bat speed and high back foot finish. Found some barrels with loud contacts. Aggressive approach. Smooth athletic in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 75 mph; showed soft sure hands, fluid rhythmic feet, and a clean quick exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Using a short compact arm action, showed consistent accuracy to the base from a high ¾ slot. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.31.
VA/DC PreSeason All-State Central
Kim is 5-9 with a lanky athletic 150 pound frame that has a lot of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from an open balanced athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, short smooth load back. Hips rotate with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, goes straight to the ball,slightly uphill line drive swing path with some extension through the ball, showed a good approach working gap to gap, line drive hitter with potential to grow into some gap power as he fills out, exit velocity was 82. In the infield, rounds ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short arm action, position velocity was 72. Ran a 7.49 60 yard dash.
