We last saw Cooke at the Future Games this summer with Team Mid-Atlantic. He was a little dinged up on a bum ankle, but he appears to be fully healthy and moving well. Behind the plate Cooke has solid flexibility in the hips and strong hands to receive. The arm behind the plate is the separator. Not afraid to throw at any time and is really accurate around the bag with carry. At the plate it is an athletic stance, loose hands, and strides landing slightly open. Cooke has an athletic makeup while still possessing physical strength that is present in all areas of his game. Has nice feel for the barrel and the ability to hit for high average with adjustability in the swing. Cooke was 3-3 on the day with three singles and reaching a 4th time on a HBP. Virginia Tech commit that has a chance to make an early impact when he gets on campus.

Cooke is 6-3 with strong athletic frame. He hits from the right side from an open balanced athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, short smooth load back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short and quick to the ball, uphill line drive swing with a very strong contact point and extension through the ball, showed a pull approach with the ability use the whole field, power present to all fields with some serious power to pull side, exit velocity was 97. Behind the plate, very quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, short quick arm action, position velocity was 80 and pop times 1.86-1.92. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Ran a 7.26 60 yard dash.

PBR Future Games
Physical 6-foot-3 217-pound frame with athleticism. High end defender behind the plate with big arm strength and advanced receiving skills. Posted a 1.90-1.97 pop time range on his workout day with 82 mph arm strength and the biggest thing is he is not a "showcase" pop time guy. It is just as real in game. Throws have plenty of carry and can and have seen him throw baserunners out from his knees with backpicks from there as well. Shows the ability to hit for average as well as flashes power to the pull side. Had multiple line drive singles during the three game tournament. Cooke was hobbled a little bit by an ankle sprain so he had some down time in the dugout. During that time the staff got a chance to pick his brain a little bit about baseball and who he is and Cooke's personality and character really shined. Shortly after Future Games he committed to Virginia Tech.
