3.15.17: Youthful long and lanky frame. Controlled delivery with slight corkscrew in leg lift. Creates some tilt in shoulder while working downhill. Long, free arm action and quick arm speed. Nice posture in finish. Regular effort and looks to have more in tank with room to fill out more. Throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Slight run on the fastball, breaking ball had 1/7 shape with gradual shorter break and potential. Change had fade to the pitch, still developing pitch. Interesting young pitching prospect.
5.16.16: Clifton is a lanky lefty with a projectable frame. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a drop and drive delivery and a quick, loose arm action that generates easy velocity. Shoulders are closed and uphill. His fastball had late run, sitting 77-78 and touching 79. Slider had gradual sweep at 72.
3.19.16: Clifton has a lanky athletic frame. He throws from a low three-quarters arm slot and has a smooth delivery. He has a long, loose arm action and generates velocity with easy effort. Clifton has feel for a good fastball/slider combination and has a ton of upside as he develops and fills out his frame.
