Fitzgerald is 6-1 with an athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the left side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, two touch stride on line, short load back to a slight wrap. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Hands stay inside, short to the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing, gets extension up through the ball, showed a good approach working primarily gap to gap, some power present to the pull side and in the alleys, exit velocity was 90. In the outfield, gets body behind the ball and fields through it with above average hands, quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, position velocity was 78. Ran a 7.41 60 yard dash. On the mound, he throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, long free arm action and some effort to his delivery. Shoulders are level and closed, lands closed with an athletic finish. Fastball was 72-75, with a bit of late run. Curveball had good armspeed and was 60-62 with sharp 11/5 break to it.
