Tierney is 5-11 with a strong athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, strides on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Kept hands inside, very short and quick to the ball with a strong contact point and some extension through it. Uphill swing path, natural loft built in and some power to pull side, showed a pull approach, exit velocity was 84. In the outfield, rounds ball and plays through it, fielding with soft hands. Quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a free arm action, outfield velocity was 84. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Ran a 6.74 60 yard dash.

Tierney has a lanky athletic frame with wide hips and a lot of projection left to his frame. Showed average arm strength from the outfield. At the plate, hits from a balanced relaxed stance, quiet simple setup, short stride on line, short load back, good rhythm. Hips rotate with some violence and he is short to the ball with some strength at contact, ball carries off of his bat. In the game, was 2-4 with a ripped single to left and a very well hit double to deep left center. The at-bat in the video is when he reached on an error, he got into a 2-strike count and just kind of threw the bat at the ball to put in play with runners on base. Showed good awareness of situation to get bat on ball with runners on. Has some gap power potential and would like to get some better video next time out.
