Uncommitted; 6-foot-2, 184-pound two-way prospect had a strong outing at the Underclass Games in July, going sixty: 6.87/ INF Velo: 87 | Exit Velo: 95 via Trackman. Lean, physical frame. Smooth, easy swing generating great bat speed (74.9 mph via Blast) and rotational acceleration with looks to be a strong defender at the hot corner. On the mound, FB sat 83-86 (Max: 2208 rpm via Trackman) at Underclass Games, before climbing to 84-87, T88 at LakePoint later in the summer. Mixed downer CB at 70-74, burying for swing n’ miss chase. The Hardin Co. QB shows great athleticism and high ceiling on both sides.
7/21/20
6’2, 185-pound corner infielder stood out for his all-around tools package and overall athleticism. Prototypical corner infield frame, tall, athletic w/ some well-proportioned lean strength, super projectable. Chance to be a monster physically as the frame matures. Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into stride to square and short hand load. Generates above average bat speed w/ some natural loft. Hammered a single up the middle in game action. Quiet, repeatable swing. Intriguing mix of present swing, projectable frame and power upside. Had the 2nd longest hit per Trackman in BP at 341 feet while showing off a max exit speed of 95.12. Chance for all fields power as frame matures. Defensively, shows solid hands w/ solid footwork and projectable carry through target arm strength w/ solid release. Arm strength will keep him on the left side of the infield, led event with 86 IF velocity. On the mound, righty pitched from a full wind-up in an OTT release. Super quick arm w/ some effort. Intriguing velo ceiling that has at least 1 more big jump coming. Downhill plane w/ angle. FB shows occasional short arm-side run, occasional ride through the zone. Tight short downer CB w/ late bite, true swing and miss/put-away type pitch. Flashed medium downer depth as the outing went along, maintaining the tight late bite and knee-buckling of the offering. Around the zone w/ his 2-pitch mix, 12 of 20 for strikes. Generated 3 swing and misses on 5 swings.
