The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Watts is a tall, fast twitch dual-sport athlete. The JP2 quarterback is a stellar glove at 3B and has tools to fill in at SS. Quick feet, dependable hands, and good carry on throws across the diamond. Offensively, setup is very relaxed and moves to the ball quietly with good rhythm and timing. Quick bat speed while keeping barrel in the zone for long time and peppering line drives to all fields. Projects gap-to-gap hitter, who can defend the left side of the infield.

Generates quick bat speed while keeping his bat in the zone for a long time. Gap to gap line drive to fly ball approach. Projects as a + slug. guy as he develops into his frame at the next level. Defensively, smooth mover with dependable hands. Arm showed good life across the diamond, has improved since the last time we saw him and projects to keep improving as he develops.
10/14/18 - Position Velocity: IF-79, Exit Velocity: 82 6-foot-1, 170-pound, RHH had a strong offensive day, reaching base four times (collecting two hits, a walk and a hit by pitch). Tall, athletic frame w/ long levers, well-proportioned lean strength. Super projectable, has just scratched the surface of his frame potential. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, crouched stance w/ short hand rhythm into short stride and short hand load. Generates bat speed through the zone, flashes whip. Up the middle approach w/ lot of line drives when right. Projectable pull power w/ present gap power. Knack for barrel. Defensively, moves well at SS w/ solid footwork, projectable carry to target arm strength and solid hands.
10/14/18 - Max FB: 80, FB: 76-80, CB: 62-66 6-foot-1, 170-pound, RHP had some rust on the mound while flashing some swing and miss stuff, 4 of 6 swing and misses against him, but likely projects best on the middle infield. Tall, athletic frame w/ long levers, well-proportioned lean strength. Super projectable, has just scratched the surface of his frame potential. Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber. Bit of a hanging leg kick, got him off timing and arm alternated between being late and being early. Got better as he shook off the rust. Downhill plane. Straight FB w/ occasional short arm-side run. Big downer CB, flashes proper shape and rotation. Struggled to get the feel for it on this day. Sprayed the zone, tools to control.
