10/21/17 - Home-1st: 4.50, Pop Time: 1.97-2.03, Position Velocity: C-80, IF-82, Exit Velocity: 90
6-foot-1, 185-pound, LHH continues to show high level tools, finding barrels in game but little to show for it, going 1-5 with no swing and miss on 7 swings. Medium, athletic frame w/ some present strength, lot of physical projection. Offensively, hits with a slightly open, slightly crouched stance w/ weight on back side. Leg kick to square w/ proper load. Generates bat speed through the zone. Up the middle approach w/ pull power. Understands his zone, will not expand. Average runner plays up on the bases. At 3B, is a reliable defender w/ soft hands, above average arm strength. Can play collegiately at both 3B and C. Behind the plate, shows soft hands w/ ability to receive velocity. Presents a solid target for his pitchers, glove rest is a little too loud. Feel for pitch framing, will continue to improve w/ reps. As a thrower, shows quick release w/ carry to target. Popped a 2.0 in game. A very high level catching prospect w/ big time bat.
9/24/17 - Home-1st: 4.51, Pop Time: 2.00-2.06, Position Velocity: IF - 79, C - 79, Exit Velocity: 91
6-foot-1, 185-pound, LHH showed an advanced all-around tool package that culminated w/ a 1-3 effort in game w/ 2 stolen bases and no swing and miss. Athletic frame w/ present strength and physical projection. In the box, hits w/ an open, slightly crouched stance w/ back shoulder hand location and some hand rhythm. Leg kick to slightly open w/ proper load. Put on a show in BP, hitting a ball off the right field lights. Showed gap to gap approach in game w/ barrel feel. Patient hitter understands his zone, does not expand. Generates above avg bat speed. Average runner, but plays up due to knowledge of the game. When at 2nd base, was constantly hunting for his “Brian Roberts” stolen base and got quality jumps. Defensively at 3B, shows soft hands w/ reliable glove. Some effort in throw. Arm plays better behind the plate, where he shows athletic movements and quick release. Caught the last 2 innings of the last game and showed a big target to pitchers w/ soft hands and feel for framing. Big time 2019 prospect.
Summer 2020: Left-handed hitting infielder Parker Noland (Vanderbilt) put together a strong summer offensively, batting .348 with a .465 OBP. He showed real quick hands at the plate with a left-center approach and a plus run tool. With below average arm strength, the 2022 draft-eligible profiles best to first base or left field.
