RHP Ollie Akens (McMinn Co; MTSU Commit) makes his rankings debut at 438 after being dominant at the PBR 17U National Championship. The first commit of the 2022 class, Akens was downright impressive in his outing this summer. Dominated from the first pitch to the last, throwing three pitches at will and not giving hitters much of a chance. Very lean, wiry frame with plenty of room to fill out. The right-hander worked 83-86 with some arm side sink and commanded both sides of the plate. The SL at 70-73 was a hitters nightmare with sharp late break, freezing hitters and causing several swing 'n misses. CH as a third offering is nothing to be scoffed at with great shape and fade from left-handed hitters. Seems to be a big steal for the Blue Raiders.
