2/3/19 - Max FB: 87, FB (84-86), CB (68), CH (77-80)

6-6, 190-pound righty continues to show his electric arm speed as the uncommitted righty is primed for a huge spring.  XL tall, long and lanky frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength, has just scratched the surface of his frame potential.  Small forward build.  Pitches from a full wind-up into H ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber.  Super quick arm w/ significant velocity ceiling.  Glove side can get stronger, would help with direction and consistently finishing his pitches.  Extension, ball gets on you.  Straight FB w/ ride through the zone.  Medium downer CB flashed proper shape and rotation, struggled to get on top of it on this day.  Firm straight CH.  Sprayed the zone on this day as he returns from injury, has a history of being around the zone with his FB since having seen him in 2017.

6/12/18 - Max FB: 89, FB: 85-88, Avg FB: 85.70 CB: 65-69, CH: 73
6-foot-6, 220-pound, RHP continues to show the ability to pound the zone w/ his FB, flashed an above average CB.  XL tall, sturdy frame w/ high-waist, present lower half strength, projectable.  Pitches from a full wind-up into ¾ release from the first base side of the rubber.  Controls XL frame well, shows ability to get arm on time consistently.  Flashes ability to tap into his lower half to generate velocity.  Super quick arm.  Downhill plane w/ angle.  Straight FB flashes occasional short arm-side run.  Medium downer CB flashed w/ late bite at 69.  Learning to consistently spin the baseball w/ average depth.  Tends to come up out of his hand w/ loopy life.  Mixed in one straight CH from a lower arm-slot.  Around the zone w/ the FB, more control than command.  Development of secondary pitches will determine ultimate upside.  Generated 3 swing and misses on 14 swings.

9/24/17 - Max FB: 86, FB: 81-84, CB: 64-68,
6-foot-5, 200-pound, RHP w/ prototypical size and strike throwing ability.  XL frame w/ projection and present strength.  Pitches from a full wind-up w/ a short rocker step and sets up on first base side of rubber.  Balance point, hip drive and ¾ release.  Quick arm w/ slight stab in back.  Gets down the mound extremely well w/ extension.  Glove arm does not provide power, but does not affect command.    FB features late arm side run and occasional sink.  Flashes ride through the zone.  CB is medium downer, flashes late break.  Struggled to get it out in front consistently in this outing.  More of a steal strike pitch than an out pitch.  DNS CH.  Pounded the zone w/ FB’s (15 of 21), flashed ability to pitch w/ intent.  Struck out 2 in his 2 innings of work w/ 75 % groundball rate.  Strong follow for the 2019 class w/ upside.
