5-foot-11, 168-pound, all around player with a high ceiling of potential going forward. Offensively, shows power and ability to hit balls hard all over the field. Creates good separation in his load, while using his hips and core to fire his bat through the zone quickly. Defensively, shows good footwork with fast hands and the ability to work well on the run. Solid and quick release, along with being able to drop down to different arm angles. Potential to be a plus defender and top of the order hitter at the next level.
2/3/19 - 60: 7.28, IF Velo: 71, Exit Velo: 83
5-11, 168-pound middle infielder gained 7 ticks of exit velocity from last fall. Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength, has just touched the surface of his frame potential. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, upright, narrow stance w/ short hand rhythm into short leg kick and proper load. Working to get upper and lower halves in sync consistently, occasional hip leak causes him to get slightly pull heavy. Line drive oriented approach w/ ability to use all fields. Projectable gap power type. Defensively, stands out for his hands on the IF, valuing quick release over arm strength on this day. Features soft hands and good footwork.
10/14/18 - Home-1st: 4.62, Position Velocity: IF-75, Exit Velocity: 76 5-foot-10, 162-pound, RHH continued to show off his above average glove while picking up a hit and walk in game. Medium, athletic frame w/ some present lower half strength, projectable upper body. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, very slightly crouched stance w/ hand and lower half rhythm into short shift of weight, knee to knee stride and proper load. Generates bat speed through the zone. Learning how to stay in sync, flashes ability to get lower and upper halves synced up. Hip leak works against him, as he learns to keep his hips through the ball, shows ability to go to all fields w/ lot of line drives. Does a better job of keeping hips through the baseball in BP, just a matter of reps in game. Knack for contact, zero swing and miss on 5 swings. Projectable gap power type. Defensively, shows soft hands w/ good feet, quick release and projectable carry to target arm strength. Values getting rid of the ball quickly.
7/3/18 - Home-1st: 4.44, Position Velocity: IF-73, Exit Velocity: 77 5-foot-10, 152-pound, RHH stood out for his defensive ability, featuring soft hands and range. Medium, athletic frame w/ well-proportioned lean strength. Super lean, projectable. Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, slightly crouched stance w/ active hands and lower half rhythm into toe tap and proper load. Over-strides in game (does not in BP), creates a lunging at the ball and difficult for him to stay balanced. Shows good hands offensively with ability to keep them back and find barrels when lower half is fooled. As he learns to get lower half consistently involved and on balance, projects for gap power w/ more consistent barrel feel. Projectable above average runner gets to top speed quickly. Defensively, moves well at SS w/ soft, quick hands and good footwork. Projectable carry to target arm strength, projects as an above average to plus defensive SS as frame matures.
