A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
Uncommitted; 5-foot-9, 175-pound twitchy southpaw with slim, high-waisted frame. Good athlete with springy feet in the OF, but future is on the bump. Short, compact arm action with good quickness and repeatability in delivery. FB sits 84-87, T88 with great spin (Max: 2527 rpm at FG; sitting 2100-2400s rpm via Trackman). Throws a tight breaking ball at 70-75, manipulating CB/SL shape and speed. Throws it to both sides and spun it 2100-2300s rpm, topping 2457 rpm (via Trackman) at PBR Future Games. Draws a lot of swing n’ miss with the high spin capacity, and remains the top uncommitted lefty arm in the 22’ class.
6/12/19
5-foot-9, 160-pound athletic frame; LHP/OF. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 77 mph. Started in a balanced stance, had a quick load and used a short stride to initiate his swing. Exhibited quick bat speed, as well as a straight-to-the-ball swing plane and a high finish. From the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 84 mph; feet were athletic and his hands were sure. Had a high ¾ slot and a long arm action. He established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.75. On the mound, showing lightning arm speed he had a ¾ arm angle and a consistent arm action. He is a tall-and-fall type pitcher and uses high effort in his delivery. Showed uphill shoulders with a tall balance point off the mound. He sat with his fastball at 80-82 mph. He showed the most control on his curveball (67-68 mph) when he stayed on top. His changeup (75-77) shows slight action and low in the zone accuracy.
