The 2021 outfielder was a standout at the Last Chance Event. At the plate, the right handed hitter displayed hard consistent contact during his batting practice session. Low effort hitting actions. Defensively, the outfielder showcased a plus arm with a showcase best 90 MPH on throws to the plate. Pichardo also a personal best 6.65 in the 60 yard dash.
7/31/19
Pichardo stands a physically impressive 5-foot-10 170 pounds. Has consistently run in the 6.65-6.90 range with his 60's over four events the last year. At the plate the setup is spread with a knee lift for timing. Swing path is direct with line drive results. Breaking ball recognition will be the next hurdle but he had long, extended at bats fighting off tough pitches. Defensively- Can handle all three positions and has shown an above average arm at times (up to 88 MPH). Very fundamental with his approach and working through the ball; controlled aggression.
6/25/19
An athletic projectable frame at 5-foot-10, 170 pounds. Ran a 6.75 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- The right handed hitter stands in the box in a tall stance with feet shoulder width apart. Uses a slight leg lift before entering the hitting zone. Displayed consistent hard contact to the middle part of the field. Short compact swing. A lot more left in the tank. Top exit velocity was 89 MPH. Defensively- The outfielder shows active footwork. Gets himself in a good position when fielding the baseball. Uses his active footwork to gain momentum on throws to the plate. Top throwing velocity from the outfield was 88 MPH. The 2021 outfielder has tons of upside and is a must follow.
10/28/18
Wide, athletic frame with projection left. Lean build with some preset strength at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds. Offensively – Athletic stance with feet set just outside shoulder width apart. Upright posture with slight knee bend and some weight pre-shifted onto backside. Uses low, balanced leg lift to get into forward stride. Loose, quick swing with noticeable strength in his wrists. Stays compact with hands working inside of the ball. Head stays down to the ball at contact. Balanced, one-handed finish with lift after contact. Projectable hitting actions. Defensively – Smooth, deliberate footwork in the OF. Maintains body control while approaching the ball. Glove hand works out in front with upper body over the ball as he funnels. Uses a step behind shuffle to get into throwing motion. Compact arm action with high ¾ release. Overall, possesses next level tools with quality skill set.
