Physical: Highly athletic 6-foot, 180lb frame with “arrow-up” over past year. 6.74 runner in 60.
Offensively: LHH. Starts from a balanced, repeatable stance with rhythmic, high hands that stay above the ball. Works directly into slot and through the hitting zone for length, recording a T92 mph bat-exit velocity at 340 feet. Spread results around the field from line to line and poses one of the state’s best bat to ball profiles regardless of class. Big high school season carried over to a scorching hot summer.
Defensively: The middle infielder is always in the right spot with choppy, active footwork and a multitude of routes on the approach. An adjustable glove hand can attack or play softly and funnel inward on the touch, and an 83 mph arm-strength wins on the front side. Handles the play on the run effortlessly.
2/27/22
Physical: Athletic 5-foot-11, 180lb frame with natural feel for the game. 7.18 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Balanced, even stance, as the hands started loosely with the knob higher at the shoulder. Utilized a lift and replace stride to initiate the swing through a flat path in the hitting zone. Two-handed finish and took one of the more complete rounds on the day. Posted a 100% sweet spot rate and 90% line drive rate, which is about all you need to know in terms of barrel accuracy. Went gap-to-gap mostly in the approach, up to a T92 mph bat-exit velocity. Has a chance to hit for average.
Defensively: The primary shortstop stays low, under the ball and maintains good angles on the attack. Bounces on the toes and does the little things right, clean pace while getting rid from a quicker H ¾ slot (80 mph, accurate). Feel to change the release on the run and plays a good second base as well.
