6/17/15 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitter. Kept body fairly still with a little bit of top half dive toward home plate. Showed some feel for the barrel in BP and the ball came off his bat well. Posted average in-game home-to-1B time of 4.44. Showcased 92-mph exit velocity and 82-mph arm strength during workout (ran FB up to 88 in game). Solid feet to ground balls, fielded ball deep, could shore up some accuracy issues by ironing out variations in arm path and slot.

Comments
6/17/15 Has some strength in his 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame. Pitched out of an over-the-top slot with a stiff wrist. Had some life on a fastball that sat 85-87, touching 88, and was able to run it in on right-handed hitters. Breaking ball with 11/5 action at 76-78 had short, hard tilt with occasionally true slider action. Change-up at 74-75 was rarely-used third pitch.
11/1/14 Hinchliffe hits from a square stance and utilizes and lift-and-replace stride. He takes a short path to the ball and his head stays still, while there is some stiffness due to a slight armbar and often limited extension through contact caused by incomplete backside rotation. The 5-foot-9, 165-pounder showed well defensively with solid feet, hands, and arm strength.
