Left-handed hitting middle infielder who profiles as a second baseman. Jansen has one of the nicest left-handed bats in the class. Short and balanced to contact, Jansen uses the whole field, working gap to gap. His hands work well to contact with fluid and easy swing, has bat speed and recognizes off speed pitches. Plays a lot of second for club team, has also shown ability to play shortstop and third on occasions. Softness in hands, approaches ball well with body control, confident actions with good feel for the position. Top ranked second baseman in this years grad class.
8/27/15
Average frame at 5-foot-11, 175-pounds. Nice compact swing with some bat speed and line drive approach. Hands work well to ball, small hitch but is on time and gets hands out and extended quick. Will flash some power at times but is gap to gap power. See's baseball well and will use whole field. Exit velocity was clocked at 84 mph showing strength. Defensively, approaches ball well with average feet and hands. Arm was clocked at 82 mph, projects as a left-handed hitting second baseman who should hit for average at the next level.
