2.19.18 Nolin passes the eye test as the uncommitted 2019 left-hander stands 6-foot-4, 187-pounds. The arm is clean in the back and works outfront from ¾ slot with good feel for all three of his pitches and a repeatable delivery. Nolin worked in the 82-84 range with his fastball, topping out at 85 mph and he projects to add a few more ticks to the fastball as we get deeper into the season. The curveball showed downward break and 1/7 shape, working in the 70-72 range while the changeup hovered in the mid 70’s. Nolin is a big lefty with pitchability and good feel for the mound, the stuff plays up and we look for him to take the next step as we head into the summer season.
11.3.17 Nolin is a 2019 left-hander with upside and projectability in his well proportioned frame at 6-foot-3, 185-pounds. A strong lower half, Nolin works with balance and a clean arm action from 3/4 slot. The arm shows whip out front and his fastball worked between 80-82 with room to add velocity. His changeup is firm at 76 mph but still showed fading action and a feel for the strike zone while his curveball had 1/7 shape and would get late action when he was outfront and thrown with arm speed. The big left-hander meets the eye test and has a chance to have a breakthrough 2018 season.
