Gilbert has steadily improved and now runs his fastball into the mmid 80, getting up to 86 mph while complementing that with an overhand curveball that shows depth and a developing changeup. Room to add strength to his frame, Gilbert gets out front with clean actions and the 2019 grad has room to grow and continue to add polish to his game. Will be an intriguing follow this summer.

6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed pitcher who also sees time behind the plate. On the mound, tops out at 82 mph, arm is clean in the back, shows some arm speed and is able to get on top of ball from his ¾ slot. Feel for breaking ball at 65 mph with right spin and action to it, changeup works in low 70’s and has chance to be average pitch. More in the tank off the mound. At the plate, hits from the right side with closed off front side, bat will get long at times, when short to ball was when he made solid contact with line drives to pull side. Behind the plate, was a best pop time of 2.10, arm has strength and carry, can fine tune footwork and become quicker to increase time and throws.
