Josiah Romeo is Canada’s top draft-eligible arm and has been dominant during his stint in the MLB Draft League with his fastball sitting in the 90-92mph range while touching some 93s and 94s. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-hander has yet to allow a walk over three outings (9.1 IP) while picking up 11 strikeouts. Currently owns a 1.93 ERA, along with a 0.86 WHIP. The HPP Tigers product has utilized a pair of secondary offerings with a slider at 81-83mph and changeup at 80-82mph. Had three whiffs of the slider and three whiffs on the changeup with our staff in attendance on June 4th. Romeo looks to be peaking at the right time, flashing the best stuff our staff has seen from him with the draft now less than a month away.

Romeo showed why he is one of the most electric arms in the country. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound RHP utilizes a free and easy delivery to fill the zone with his 3-pitch mix. The fastball sat 88-90 and ran it up to 92 mph. His two off-speed pitches, a slider and a changeup, generated both in-zone swing & miss and chase out of the zone. The slider has two-plane break and profiles as an effective strikeout pitch going forward. The Florida State commit has been one of the main attractions in Canada since he participated in the Future Games last July, and he will look to continue to shine as the summer season gets underway.

‘25 RHP Josiah Romeo is one of the top uncommitted arms in the country and looked the part at the Canada Cup. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-hander worked three innings in the opener against BC allowing just one run on two hits, one walk and struck out two against a strong offensive lineup. Romeo was the main attraction among Canadian arms and had LakePoint buzzing during his three innings against New York on Saturday. The fastball sat 90-92mph early on before settling in at 88-90mph. The heavy FB pairs well with the SL 76-80mph and he does a good job tunneling the two. Generated several whiffs during three strong innings. Big-time arm that showed that flashed big-time stuff in front of a large crop of college coaches. Romeo also swung the bat throughout the week where there's also upside but the mound where will be where he makes his money.

‘25 RHP/INF Josiah Romeo (uncommitted) was one of the more anticipated arms on the PBR Canada Selects team and got the start against a loaded Okotoks Dawgs lineup. 6-foot-3, 190-pounds and moved well on the mound for his size with a free and easy, repeatable delivery. Pounded the zone and mixed his pitches well to keep hitters guessing throughout his outing. The fastball sat 89-91mph with life through the zone and looked to work down in the zone with it. Paired the fastball with a slider that had bite at 79-82 and a changeup at 85mph. The fastball and slider play well off each other and the slider gave hitters problems when he kept it down. Impressive showing from Romeo following his first appearance with the Junior National Team. An arm that college coaches need to keep tabs on throughout the summer.
