On the shelf at Wabash Valley this fall with some shoulder soreness, Soucie now looks back on track for this spring season.
7/15/22
2022 MLB Draft League: A late arrival during the Draft League's first half, Soucie impressed immediately with his smooth delivery and three-pitch mix, showing an advanced feel for a low-90s FB (T95), a slider that he could land in the zone or bury for strikes, and a late-running changeup that flashes above-average with out-pitch potential.

Soucie, a large, 6-foot-3, 195-pound two-way guy, only showcased on the positional side on this day and showed out. It’s an aggressive left-handed swing with power potential. He was 89 mph off the tee. There is extension through the zone with a bat path that matches his offensive ability. He’ll have the chance to make a significant impact on the offensive side of the ball going forward. There is no doubting the ability on the mound, and he made it clear he can play on both sides. Must-watch player going forward.

Soucie stands an impressive 6-foot-3 with strength throughout. On the mound, he uses his lower half well and has a compact delivery for his size. His timing is pretty good without any real stress points. Staying on top of the ball was an issue that can be overcome with repetition. The fastball topped out at 79 mph with most being around the plate. There may be some velocity to be gained with a consistent arm slot and mechanical tweaks, along with maturity and natural strength to be added. The breaking ball showed promise with some late lateral bite. There is a lot to like in Soucie and with further development he can be one of the top 2021 pitchers in the province. High ceiling and someone to dream on a continue to track.
