Malenfant is loose and easy from 3/4 arm slot with action on all of his pitches. Athletic delivery that he repeats, pounds the zone with fastball that was 84 mph. Feel for both off-speed pitches, curveball works at 72-74 mph with 11/5 shape and tight rotation, changeup is 72-76 with fade that compliments his fastball. Added weight and strength will be key for Malenfant as he actions suggest there is more to come from the 2017 righty.

6-foot, 140-pound athletic righty with long legs and arms. Good lean pitchers frame that will fill out in time. Arm action is loose and easy with some arm speed to it. Works from a low-¾ arm slot with natural run and sink. Good tempo to delivery with hip turn on leg kick. Gets good direction back to the plate. Threw fastball for strikes sitting between 78-80 mph. Curveball showed good two-plane break and rotation at 63-64 mph. Changeup was natural, slowed arm down at times, makings of a quality changeup. Good looking 2017 prospect.
