11/3/17 - Arnold is a two-way guy with the ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball. As an outfielder he shows tools in every facet of his game. Arnold ran a 6.95 60-yard dash at his latest event, the best he’s run at a PBR showcase to date. He was also 87 mph from the outfield with athletic actions and a clean arm. At the plate he shows some pop with a strong swing from the right side, showcasing his 91 mph exit velo with a short, compact swing that allows him to drive balls to all fields. On the mound he’s raw, but shows promise. The fastball sat in the 82-83 range, while his curveball lived 69-71 and a changeup that showed some depth at 75-79. Over the course of his high school career, Arnold has continued to get stronger and definitely a solid pickup in the 2018 class.

Arnold added an inch and 10 pounds and now stands at 6-foot, 180-pounds with a sturdy build and strong lower half. Improved 60 time to 7.27, from the outfield, approached ball with confidence, would cut himself off at times hindering the extension and carry on baseball, velocity was 80 mph. At the plate, looseness to swing, relaxed as he gets into separation and in the middle of his body when front foot lands, some lift involved with bat path and finish, drove balls into back of cage, really comes together when he is on time, exit velocity was 82 mph. On the mound, Arnold works from high-3/4 slot with down and drive front leg. Fastball sat 78-79 mph with cut action, creates downward plane. Curveball had a few inconsistencies at 61-62 mph, more of 11/5 shape when outfront and worked to his glove side. Changeup at 72-73, maintained arm speed and was similar coming out of his hand to his fastball. Strong 2018 grad who will be counted on a two way player with ability to hit for extra bases and has current gap power.

5-foot-11, 170-pound OF/RHP with a strong, thick frame. Arnold has a good idea at the plate, starts crouched, has a leg kick, good bat speed with an 83 mph exit velo, comes through the ball well and shows some pop for his age. On the mound delivers from a high 3/4 arm slot, FB sat in the 78-80 mph range with good downhill action. Very balanced, good feel for pitching, should throw harder as he matures.

5-foot-11, 170-pound 2018 with husky frame to him. Hits with leg kick and body weight shift to load, likes to pull with some pop for his age, exit velocity was 83 mph. Defensively, from the outfield, made the plays and approach was clean, arm showed some length but was able to get arm out front with a velocity of 71 mph. Off the mound, Arnold showed a fastball that had cutting action at 75-77 mph. Breaking ball was in the 60-63 mph range, showed tight spin and 11/5 shape. Change was straight with occasional cut. Gathered over the rubber and has chance to incorporate strength into delivery, 2018 grad with an idea and some baseball IQ.
