Wilkinson is a sturdy righthander at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds and the two outings we’ve seen this summer it has been 84-86, touching 87 mph with heaviness on the heater and downer breaking ball in the 71-73 range. A little wrap at the back on the separation, Wilkinson will get swings and misses up in the zone and if he gets ahead, will be able to bury his curveball as well. There is room to become more athletic while adding strength and the upside with Wilkinson is something to be very aware of.
2/19/18
Wilkinson a 2021 grad with actions and upside at 5-foot-11, 145-pounds. Ran a 7.18 in the sixty with regular effort. A left-handed bat that was balanced in setup with a slow load back, line drive stroke with some looseness in the hands and extension in his finish. Exit velocity was 80 mph and showed bat speed for his age during BP. Worked well in the outfield, showed some athleticism an the arm worked and was 81 mph. On the mound, the right-hander worked with big leg kick, arm has short takeaway in the back, worked in the 79-80 range with fastball, threw some curveballs with 11/5 shape at 68-69 mph. Room to fill out and mature physically, actions work on both sides and will be a nice follow from the 2021 class. 60-Yard Dash: 7.18 Exit Velocity: 80 OF Velocity: 81
