Bench is a physical right-hander who immediately stood out when last seen at the College and University Showcase. The 6’2, 205-pound Bench has a low-effort delivery created from an extensive leg kick which allows him to land linear with lots of power towards the plate. The arm works from a high ¾ slot without a lot of length out back allowing Bench to control the strike zone. His fastball sat 78-79, his changeup 66-68 and his 11/5 curveball 67-69. His secondary offerings will need some fine-tuning, but it’s a durable body with the ability to command the strike zone and potentially add a few ticks to his fastball as he fully matures.
