5-foot-10, 145-pound MIF with young, raw frame, athletic movements from the left side of the plate, line drive swing with good bat to ball skill. Balanced setup with rhythm and timing, works to stride with small negative toe tap, hands stay tight to the upper half. Quick hands to the baseball with short extension and finish, more strength/balance needed in lower half to hold finish. In BP, shows a pull side and flat approach, some barrels, 74 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.50 60. Defensively, glove works with good bounce and instincts to the baseball, hesitant at times, transfer and shuffle are long, low sling- shot arm action across the baseball diamond. More arm strength to be developed in the next few years, lacked carry to the bag at 73 mph.
6/2/18 A 5-foot-8, 140-pound developing frame. Offensively, the left-handed hitter bats from a slightly crouched, balanced, and quiet set-up. Uses a moderate reverse toe-tap stride and aggressive hand load before launching his hands on a slightly uphill path with a high finish. In BP, shows a middle to opposite field approach, found a few barrels, 69 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.65 second 60. Defensively, on the infield, shows above average hands and feet. Throws from a short arm stroke coming through a high-¾ slot with carry and some accuracy, 72 mph across the diamond. Also athletic enough to get behind the dish where he is a solid receiver.
