Devyn Trujillo: SS/C, (2022) Bishop Kelley, OK. 5-foot-8, 145-pound slim frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 82 mph. Begins in a wide stance with a small load, then uses a toe tap just before his swing. Bat speed was some, used flat swing plane and a back foot finish. Found a few barrels through his rounds. Pull side approach. Behind the plate, recorded a pop time of 2.03-2.25, he produced a position velocity of 68 mph during throw downs; showed developing feet, soft hands and a developing exchange. Had narrow setup. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 75 mph; has a tapping developing exchange, firm hands and developing feet. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a high ¾ slot with a short arm action. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.36.
5/18/19
A 5-foot-7, 140-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an even stance. Uses no leg-kick, only a small lift of front heel before a vicious rear hip rotation. Hands start high, above ear, moving back slightly upon load and leading into a looping downward swing. Line-drive contact is consistently made out in front of the plate. In BP, shows and all fields and flat approach, mostly barrels, 76 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.09 60. Defensively, shows fluid movement and natural actions. Glovework is smooth and arm is quick with natural throwing ability from any angle in reference to first base. Throws from three-quarter arm slot with outstanding accuracy at 70 mph.
6/2/18 A developing 5-foot-7, 130-pound frame with athleticism. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an even, quiet, and back leg heavy set-up with his back elbow cocked high. Uses a moderate and controlled leg kick before launching his hand on a flat and efficient path to contact with hand speed and excellent extension. In BP, shows an all fields and flat approach with almost all barrels, 76 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.39 second 60. Defensively, shows confident actions with advanced feet and hands. Throws with a long arm stroke coming through a high-¾ slot with excellent accuracy, 68 mph across the infield. Also athletic enough to catch, and is an advanced receiver. On the mound, the right-hander works from a controlled delivery with good leg drive down the mound. Arm action is moderate length in the back, coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball keeps its plane at 68-70 mph, mostly strikes. Curveball has consistent 12/6 shape at 59-60 mph. Changeup has fade at 60-61 mph. Knuckleball has some dance at 53-55 mph.
9-9-18 A developing 5-foot-7, 130-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a wide and knock-kneed, wide, and quiet set-up with his barrel tipped forward. Uses a smooth load and no stride before launching his hands on flat path through extension with length. In BP, shows a flat and pull gap approach, almost all barrels late in the round, 76 exit velo. Runs a 7.29 60. Defensively, shows well above average feet with excellent lateral movement. Throws with a moderate arm stoke through a high-¾ slot with some accuracy at 70 mph across the infield.
