Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A 6-foot, 190-pound proportional frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a moderate leg kick before gliding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is quick with moderate length in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball flashes cut at 75-78 mph, mostly strikes. Slider shows 10/4 shape with some late depth at 66-67 mph. Changeup shows consistent fade at 72-73 mph, mostly strikes.
2/02/20
Displayed a physical 6-foot, 190-pound frame with feel for his body and strength in his actions. The right-handed hitter begins with a slightly open stance utilizing a lift-and-replace stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the zone. Showcased lower half sink with quick hip rotation generating hard barrels to the middle of the field off the tee. Registered an 84 mph bat-exit velocity and ran a 7.51 60-yard dash. The middle infielder showed adequate footwork with range to both sides while creating momentum towards the target during defensive evaluations. A soft glove hand worked well out in front and repeatable transfers yielded accurate 75 mph arm-strength across the infield out of a quick, high ¾ arm-slot.
5/19/18 A 5-foot-9, 155-pound lean frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from a balanced and athletic set-up with some rhythm in his hands. Uses a reverse toe-tap load with a moderate stride before sending his hands on a short and flat path to contact with a high finish. In BP, shows a mostly flat and opposite field approach with occasional lift, some barrels, 82 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.70 second 60. Defensively, on the infield, shows bouncy actions with average feet and hands. Throws with a short arm stroke coming through a low-¾ slot with some accuracy at 71 mph across the diamond.
9-9-18 A proportional 5-foot-10, 170-pound frame. Offensively, the right-handed hitter bats from an upright, relaxed, and balanced set-up with slight rhythm in his hands. Uses a big reverse toe-tap and hand load before pulling them through a flat path through extension with length. In BP, shows a flat opposite field and pull on the ground approach, some barrels, 86 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.70. Defensively, shows above average hands and feet with clean and confident actions. Throws with moderate arm stroke through a low-¾ slot with some accuracy at 72 mph across the diamond.
