Possesses unique athleticism, a lighting quick exchange skills behind the dish, and big raw potential at the plate. The finer parts of his game have made giant leap from when we saw him at this event a year ago. At the plate, the Wabash Valley CC recruit has quieted down actions, creating more consistent timing, limiting misses but still showing raw bat speed and strength. His misses are starting to become backspun verses rollovers. Most noticeably, he has really refined the receiving skills, handling the top arms in the state with ease. At this point, he has put his name into legitimate draft conversation.

Richardson is put together at 6-foot-0, 190-pounds and his physicality shows most at the plate. The righty has an aggressive approach at the plate with very impressive bat speed through the zone. When he found the barrel, his juice rivaled most in attendance. Over the past few weeks, Richardson has gone from under the radar and unranked to proving he belongs amongst the state’s top prospects. The New Richmond product is a versatile defender that looks the part behind the plate and third base. Behind the plate, he had the quickest feet and transfer out of any catcher in attendance, recording a pop time low of 1.94 in his defensive workout (we saw him record pop times as low as 1.88 earlier this winter). In addition, he looked comfortable and confident handling the talented arms he caught in bullpen session.
60 Yard Dash: 7.13 Pop Time: 1.94-2.11 C Velocity: 75 IF Velocity: 82 Exit Velo (Wood Bat): 92
1/16/17 A very talented right-handed hitter. Movements are fluid and bat speed is impressive. Ball jumps off his bat. Drove the ball with authority to both sides of the field. Also was very impressive in his defensive workout behind the plate and in the infield. Showed very quick/efficient footwork behind the plate. Transfer skills are well above average. Solid catch and throw skills all around. A talented third baseman that has very solid skills across the board. Footwork is efficient and glove skills are well above average. Moves light on his feet and his actions remain on the move.
7/28/15 5-foot-9, 160-pound athletic build. Right-handed hitter that starts open and gets to even. Has a good load to get his weight back with a short, compact swing that produced two singles in the game and 77 mph exit velocity. Ran 5.14 home to first. Behind the plate he starts with a good wide base. Good footwork to get his feet in line and quick transfer. Throws form a short, high-3/4 slot with pop times ranging from 2.18-2.25 and 71 mph arm strength. Over at third base he shows good range for his age with clean exchange and 74 mph arm strength across the diamond.
10-2-2018: Strong framed catcher with a wrestler’s build. Athletic, loose bodied. Strong hands, received well. Good feet. Smothers ball in the dirt. Average runner underway, 6.75 sixty. Above average arm strength with average release. Mostly direct footwork, some fade to left. Average raw power, can drive to all fields. Has all the needed tools and athleticism for a pro opportunity. At this point, he has the look of a defense first backstop who will battle in the batter’s box.
