2/23/20

2/23/20 Position Player
Hit: Left handed hitter. Physical body with an upright setup in the box. Smooth, fluid load sequence with an uphill swing path, which creates natural lift.
Power: 92 mph tee ev. Easy Gap abilities
Offensive Projection: Middle of the order/ run producer

2/23/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Physical projectable frame. Smooth delivery with good arm action from a ¾ arm slot. Will increase velocity as weight is added to his 6’5” frame and with lower body development.
Fastball: 84-87. Fastball jumps out of his hand
Curveball: 72-73. 11/5 break
Changeup: 73-75. Swing and miss potential.

2/09/20

2/9/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Regarded more as a position prospect, Cook has some to offer on the mound. Projectable 6-foot-5 frame with a long, loose arm through a ¾ slot. Regular tempo delivery with some effort. More velocity to come as he fills out and utilizes his lower half more.
Fastball: Ball jumps out of the hand. Not the hardest we’ve seen him up to but the infield velocity suggests it’s in there.
Fastball Spin Rate: 2090-2210.
Curveball: 11/5 shape with gradual break.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1720-1890.
Changeup: Swing and miss type pitch. Thrown with decent arm speed.

2/9/20 Position Player
Hit: Starts out in a taller setup. Fluid motions and efficient swing. Uphill bat path creates present loft. Appears to have more in the legs to come.
Power: Power to all parts of the diamond. Potential to be a power guy as he continues to fill out.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 91 mph.
Top Rapsodo BP Distance: 296 ft.
Field: Very clean footwork defensively. Works through the ball from the ground up. Appears to play in rhythm with comfort at third base.
Throw: Above average arm. Very loose arm action through a ¾ slot. Shows the ability to throw form multiple arm angles. Arm should keep him at the corner at the next level.
Defensive Projection: Third base

2/17/19

Body Type: 6-foot-5, 190-pound prospect with endless projection left on frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Athletic, efficient delivery that requires little effort. Very clean arm through a high-¾ slot.
Fastball: 83-86 mph. Easy velocity. Ball jumps out of his hand. His best pitch.
Curveball: 61-63 mph. 11/5 shaped offering with gradual action. Developing pitch.
Slider: 67-70 mph. Sharper than the breaking ball with some added depth.
Changeup: 73-75 mph. Above average pitch. Maintains arm speed on the offering that has some
dip to it.
Pitchability: Filled it up with the fastball.
Additional Comments: More of position player than a pitcher now but you can’t deny the projectability out there. Secondary stuff will need to improved but if he keeps progressing physically you could easily see him being a 90 mph arm before it’s all said and done.

Swing Mechanics: Starts from an upright, narrow stance in the box. Great uphill swing process that’s consistent produced by his quick hands. Energy generated well for him.
Hit: Stayed on many pitches where he presented loud barrel action.
Power: 84 mph exit velocity. Power shown to all fields.
Offensive Projection: Multiple roles.
Run: 7.76 60-yard.
Field: Hands displayed playable actions in the infield showing progressing ability working through the baseball with his glove. Footwork has mobility with more to fluidity to come as he continues to play.
Throw: 70 mph across the diamond with accuracy.
Defensive Projection: Third base.

2/10/19

A young guy to keep an eye on over the next few seasons is Louisville commit Will Cook. Cook offers a premium skill set defensively, showing a ton of feel for his hands and moves impressively well for being 6-5 in stature. At the plate he already possesses well above average bat to ball skills, consistently finding the barrel and using all fields in BP. The future Cardinal should also be a guy who can leave the yard pretty regularly as he continues to add strength and create some loft in stroke. If the Miamisburg product continues to progress, he has a chance to be a beast physically, plus arm strength across the diamond and legit raw power from the left side.

12/03/17

The Louisville commit looked the part of a top prospect in the state’s 2021 class. At 6-foot-3, 160-pounds Cook has endless physical projection left on his frame. In the box he has a series a fluid, well timed movements that sync his body up prior to launch. Launches from a balanced setup, generating torque/separation as foot strike. Swing is very efficient and fluid from the left side. As he fills outs, expect any added strength to easily translate into added pop. Cook shows all the physical signs of potentially developing into a dynamic bat down the road. Very impressive defensively at third base as well.
