A 6-foot-1, 193-pound class of 2020 right handed pitching prospect that shows athleticism on the mound. Projectable frame. Up tempo pace to his delivery while using regular effort. High leg lift with tall balance point before landing square to the plate while taking energy effectively down the mound throughout the delivery. Short arm action with good arm speed through a near OT slot. Fastball sat 80-82 mph with occasional sink. Presented two offspeed offerings with the curveball being that better working with gradual 11/5 break at 66-69 mph. Also mixed in a fading changeup at 65-66 mph.
6/14/17
6-foot-1, 185-pound athletic, projectable frame. Two-way prospect and a very good athlete. In the outfield he has good footwork to approach the baseball and is able to field ground balls consistently on his glove side. Throws with a clean arm action through an upper ¾ slot while recording a velocity of 75 mph from the outfield. A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall setup. Takes his hands back to a strong launch position during his short stride forward. Some rawness to him mechanically but natural tools are obvious and well above average for his age. Bat is fast, working on a slightly downhill plane. Ball jumps off his bat when he finds the barrel. On the mound he throws using regular effort to his quicker paced delivery. Lands slightly more closed at foot strike, with his momentum carrying back toward home plate. Throws with a shorter arm action that quickness to his arm speed through a ¾ slot. HIs fastball has some arm-side run at times thrown between 75-79 mph. Curveball presently has mostly gradual break and projects at an 11/5 plane between 59-60 mph. Throws his changeup near fastball arm speed with the pitch featuring some sinking action at 64-66 mph.
