5-foot-11, 145-pound thin, projectable body frame. Infielder uses good footwork to approach ground balls, playing through the baseball. He fields nicely with his hands out in front of his body. Throws with a clean, short arm action coming from a ¾ slot, using 76 mph velocity across the infield. Left-handed hitter starts from a tall, open stance striding into and using an inward turn as a timing mechanism back to being even before he swings. He swings with a flat bat path through the zone, finishing with a one-handed follow through. He did a nice job of showing the ability to use all parts of the field during his round of batting practice. Went 3-5 during the game portion of the event with two singles, a double, and a stolen base. Reached a top exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 4.27 out of the batter’s box to first base.

10/9/19: The shot of the day came from junior 3B Justin Fugitt, who smoked a deep home run over the Purdue bullpen in right field in his final at bat, following a hard single to right in his first at bat and a punchout in his second. The lefty-swinging infielder utilizes a deep load and solid leverage in his swing, with good lift to the pull side and a nice path to contact. There’s some hitchiness to his load, but he gets to a fairly consistent launch point swing-to-swing and, despite average bat speed, produces loud, hard contact when he finds the barrel. (Granger)
