8/2/17 Versatile defender who could be used as a utility guy at the next level. Powell showed good feet and the ability to play through the ball with ease in the infield. Transfer is quick and he uses shorter arm action. Glove works well. Behind the dish he is a well above average athlete for the position. Feet are quick and he gets out of his stance with athleticism. Arm is an average to above average tool. Recorded pop times in the mid 1.9s for the most part. Loading sequence is fluid and efficient. Barrel flows through load into launch with rhythm. A line drive swing with enough strength and bat speed to find the gaps. A solid all-around prospect who should turn some heads in game play.
6/6/17 Powell stood out in all facets of his game at the event. A versatile defender that has an advanced skill set behind the plate and in the middle infield. Time will tell where he ends up but as of now he is well ahead of the curve at both. A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall, open setup. Swing is fluid and he creates a ton of energy in his loading sequence. Hips are flexible and footwork is text book. Has showed the ability to block and receive in past events. A right-handed hitter that is very efficient mechanically at the plate. Creates energy while remaining balanced and in control. Very fast bat with impressive strength through the zone. Has the look of a three-hole guy moving forward.

In the infield he has athleticism to his actions with above average glove skills. Moves laterally with ease and can come in to make the play. Also showed off impressive, 83 mph arm strength across the infield. Behind the plate he has efficient footwork with advanced transfer skills. Blocking and receiving skills are also there. Pop times ranged from 1.94-2.06. At the plate he he gets efficient use out of his lower half through an aggressive stride and well timed weight transfer. Bat gets through the zone on a level path with definite batspeed. Used both sides of the field in batting practice, showing gap to gap pop. Registered a top exit velocity of 84 mph. Very good player.

Receiving and blocking skills are both well above average for his age. Recorded pop times of 1.94-2.0, and threw with impressive 78 mph arm strength to second base. A smooth infielder with the ability to move well laterally. Is able to play low without losing foot quickness. Plays both positions at a high level.At the plate he has a simple approach mechanically. Batspeed is well above average and he gets through the zone on a level path. Worked well to the middle of the field in batting practice. Reached a top exit velocity of 94 mph. Ran a 7.28 60-yard dash.
1/31/16 5-foot-9, 155-pound athletic build. Ran a 4.22 from home to first. Starting an a athletic, open set up he uses a hands back load while initiating movement in his lower half through a toe turn load. Does a very good job of loading his hips as he moves forward which helps him get excellent use out of his lower half. He keeps a short,compact path to the ball and does a good job of extending through contact. Showed off his bat speed by registering an exit velocity was 85 mph. He was very impressive behind the plate as well. Registering pop times between 2.06-2.12. Uses solid footwork with some quickness to his transfer. Through a 3/4 slot with clean arm action he showed off 75 mph arm strength to second base. Adding to arsenal he also looked very smooth and athletic in the infield with the ability to make plays laterally. He through across the diamond with 75 mph arm strength. It will be interesting to watch him develop.
