Ian Bierbaum: 1B/LHP, (2022) LaSalle, OH. 6-foot, 180-pound. In the box, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 81 mph. Began in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then used a toe tap. Bat speed is developing, exhibits an an inside-out short swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up multiple balls during his round. Up the middle approach. Solid while in the infield, made throws up to 75 mph; had smooth consistent footwork, sure hands, and a quick exchange. Had a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. On the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle and a compact arm action while showing developing arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Showed a consistent balance point. Knuckle (67-68 mph). Sat with his fastball at 73-76 mph. Has running action. His 2/8 curveball (61-65) had early action.
6-foot, 180-pound body frame. At first base he has adequate footwork moving well around and laterally off the bag, reaching a velocity of 67 mph. On the mound he likes to work at a fast pace. He throws with regular effort to his delivery landing in a straight line at foot strike. Has average arm speed coming from a high ¾ slot. Fastball was mostly true through the zone ranging from 69-72 mph and topping at 73 mph. Curveball has a 2/8 shape with good depth and gradual break at 58-61 mph. Knuckleball has dance and sinking action at 60-62 mph. In the outfield he has fluid footwork while creating good angles approaching the ball, consistently fielding on his glove side. Throws with a clean arm action through a high ¾ slot reaching a velocity of 66 mph. Left-handed hitter showed strength in his swing and the ability to hit the ball to all parts of the field during BP. Starts from an open stance landing back to even . Has a fluid load with his hands moving to his back shoulder and finishes with a one-handed follow through reaching an exit velocity of 82 mph. Had a solid showing at the plate during game play recording two singles up the middle and a single to left field in four of his plate appearances. Ran an 8.09 60-yard dash.
